Chambers' Day 2019

Bringing Together Chambers of Commerce in Switzerland

Banner Chambers Day

Marked by its openness to the world, the economic fabric of Geneva and Switzerland is enriched by the presence of numerous bi-national and regional Chambers of Commerce, each of which has valuable expertise in its respective markets.

With a view to bringing the Chambers together, the CCIG, in conjunction with the French, Italian, British and Chinese Chambers of Commerce operating in Switzerland, is organising a major event the "Chambers' Day". ICC Switzerland is proud to see different chambers of commerce coming together and have an active exchange with one another. ICC Switzerland will also be present at the "Village of Chambers".

Its purpose will be to promote the activities of the Chambers of Commerce, as well as to enable the 300 expected participants to exchange ideas within the framework of the "Village of Chambers".  The place of Swiss business in its diversity and the richness of its trade will also be honoured.

Annual Assembly 2019

At our annual assembly we had a look on activities of ICC in General and a look ahead. A hundered years ago the International Chamber of Commerce has been created at the end of the First World War with the objective „Peace and Prosperity through Trade and Investment“. We took the Centenary Celebrations of the International Chamber of Commerce as an opportunity to discuss the contributions business can bring to humanitarian challenges in conflicts and disaster. Yves Daccord, Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross gave a very interesting and forwardlooking speech to this topic.

We are pleased to invite you, on behalf of our Chairman Thomas Wellauer, to our Annual Assembly 2019.

We take the Centenary Celebrations of the International Chamber of Commerce as an opportunity to discuss the contributions business can bring to humanitarian challenges in conflicts and disasters. In fact, the International Chamber of Commerce has been created at the end of the First World War with the objective „Peace and Prosperity through Trade and Investment“. What does this objective mean today?

Our guest of honour, Mr Yves Daccord, will focus on this cooperation and give us his view on the latest developments. The following discussion with the audience will further explore the business dilemmas and possible contributions in such challenging situations.

Gastkommentar bei der NZZ

Zürich, 5. Juni 2019
