ICC Switzerland's Arbitration Reception 2026 with ICC United Kingdom

Yesterday, on 18 June 2026, ICC Switzerland successfully hosted the second edition of its ICC Arbitration Reception at La Réserve Genève, followed by a flying dinner reception. We were delighted to welcome ICC United Kingdom as our guest National Committee, marking another important milestone in strengthening the relationship and cooperation between our two committees.

The event brought together arbitration practitioners, academics, and legal professionals from Switzerland and the United Kingdom, creating a forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives on key developments shaping international arbitration.

Highlights of the Event

The event began with opening remarks by Mr. Guy Pendell, Chair of the ICC United Kingdom Arbitration and ADR Committee, who underscored the value of international cooperation and the exchange of expertise in arbitration.

This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Ms. Nadja Jaisli Kull, Vice President of the ICC Swiss Commission of Arbitration and ADR examining the key changes introduced by the 2026 ICC Rules Amendments. The panel featured:

  • Dr. Can Eken, Assistant Professor in Commercial Law and Co-Director of the Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute (DIDRI), Durham Law School
  • Prof. Philip Clifford KC, Partner, Latham & Watkins
  • Dr. Francisco Trebucq, Counsel, Secretariat of the ICC Court of Arbitration
  • Mr. Pierre-Yves Gunter, Partner, Gunter Arbitration

The second panel, moderated by Dr. Diana Akikol, Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, explored the practical implications and expected impact of the 2026 ICC Rules Amendments on arbitration proceedings. The panel brought together:

  • Ms. Emily Fox, Partner, International Arbitration, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer
  • Mr. Greg Fullelove, Co-Chair of the International Council and Head of International Arbitration, Partner at Osborne Clarke
  • Dr. Francisco Trebucq, Counsel, Secretariat of the ICC Court of Arbitration
  • Prof. Dr. Sébastien Besson, Member of the ICC Swiss Commission of Arbitration and ADR and Partner at LKK Arbitration

Following the success of the first edition, the second ICC Arbitration Reception once again brought together members of the arbitration community for an afternoon of insightful discussions, professional exchange, and meaningful networking. Beyond the engaging panel discussions, the event further strengthened the close relationship between the Swiss and United Kingdom arbitration communities and reinforced the importance of international cooperation in the field of arbitration.
